About Us
Parallax is transforming the robotics industry through hyper-realistic simulations that empower robotics companies to develop, test, and deploy robots with confidence. By uniquely integrating Gaussian splatting techniques with advanced physics simulators, we create photorealistic environments that make sim-to-real transfer seamless.
Our team includes engineers from Stanford, UIUC, and UT Austin, with experience at companies like NVIDIA, BMW, Michelin, Amazon, and IBM. We're backed by top-tier investors including Unusual Ventures, Conviction Capital, Spacecadet, and BoostVC.
We are iterating through our pilots and are looking for talented summer interns to join us as we grow quickly. Your work will directly impact how quickly robotics companies can test and deploy robotics applications in real-world scenarios — improving their safety, efficiency, and reliability at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and optimize hyper-realistic robotics simulations using Gaussian splatting and physics-based modeling.
- Train robotic control policies leveraging imitation learning and reinforcement learning techniques.
- Develop algorithms to learn physics models of the robot and the task from real data.
- Conduct experiments and systematically evaluate sim-to-real transfer performance.
- Collaborate closely with our engineering team to refine and iterate simulation tools based on user feedback and real-world data.
- Document methodologies, experiments, and results clearly and concisely.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in robotics simulation and control.
- Understanding of machine learning techniques, particularly imitation learning and reinforcement learning.
- Familiarity with Gaussian splatting, neural rendering, or related 3D computer vision techniques is highly desirable.
- Prior hands-on experience with physical robotic systems or simulation platforms (e.g., Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment.
