About Us
Parallax is transforming the robotics industry through hyper-realistic simulations that empower robotics companies to develop, test, and deploy robots with confidence. By uniquely integrating gaussian splatting techniques with advanced physics simulators, we create photorealistic environments that make sim-to-real transfer seamless.
Our team includes engineers from Stanford, UIUC, and UT Austin, with experience at companies like NVIDIA, BMW, Michelin, Amazon, and IBM. We're backed by top-tier investors including Unusual Ventures, Conviction Capital, Spacecadet, and BoostVC.
We are iterating through our pilots and are looking for talented summer interns to join us as we grow quickly. Your work will directly impact how quickly robotics companies can test and deploy robotics applications in real-world scenarios — improving their safety, efficiency, and reliability at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Use the latest 3D Computer Vision methods to create photorealistic simulations from real data (such as images and videos).
- Use robot logs to recreate real robot failures in robotic simulators such as IsaacSim and Gazebo.
- Create 100s of variations of the failure case using our in-house Robotic Simulation Agent, and evaluate robot policies in both simulation and real.
- Contribute to improving our Gaussian Splatting training process to create hyper-realistic replicas of our customers’ warehouses.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in 3D Computer Vision, particularly Gaussian Splatting/NeRFs.
- Prior hands-on experience with physical robotic systems or simulation platforms (e.g., Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo) is highly desired.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment.
What You’ll Gain
- A unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of robotics and AI.
- Write code and build a project that customers will actually use.
- Opportunity to contribute to production systems in a high-impact environment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced early-stage startup.
